House breaking your puppy is one of the most concerned matters that any new pet owner has in his mind after one buys a puppy. It is indeed one the most important as well the most time consuming training that you’re pet undergoes once it reaches your house. The most important step is to understand your puppy and his habits.   Most of the housebreaking training starts at the preliminary stage. Normally puppies do not have the holding capacity of adult dogs once they have their meal. It creates pressure at their bladder and colon, which forces them to urinate. They need to urinate at least six times a day. The most preliminary sign are they will circle by going round and round the place where they will urinate. If your puppy smells his/her defecation it becomes very tough to housebreak your puppy.

The key way to ensure your puppy stays on the right track is to frequently take your pet out. If the puppy defecates outside at a regular basis do praise it. Dogs love to get praised and this supports your efforts as many times as it can be done. Unfortunately, puppies do tend to forget when they have an accident.  That is why if your puppy is creating a mess at your house try not to scold it after 10 minutes of the deed .It creates a sense in the dogs as if the mess has been done by others and it ultimately goes in vain. Try to scold it at the scene of the deed. You need not spank the dog.  Even a strong voice of “NO” will do.  If “No” does not works keep on repeating “NO” and it will usually stop it.  Try to take the dog immediately out and urinate at a particular place. Try to praise by awarding the puppy for his job. Every dog has its own liking and the owner has to understand it by passing quality time with it. To allow the mess to be cleaned easily you should confine your dog’s space to a particular corner of the room, which can be easily cleaned or swiped off. One thing should be kept in mind that every time you see that you’re pet is defecating at right place try to praise it. Crate training is also fruitful only if your dog is taken at least out at least twice a day. Otherwise it can make it destructive noisy and disturbed.  If you can keep things up for at least three weeks, you will give your dog the proper training that will last lifetime.
